"My love, the child almost died." Lissa looked up in surprise at Roff's words. His wings rustled after he spoke—he normally didn't involve himself in the politics of Le-Ath Veronis. Not to this extent, anyway.

"I know, honey. And now two other children are likely to die as a result. Yes, I know they did this, but I'm not convinced we have all the ones involved in the crime."

Toff's life is in danger—someone from the Green Fae village wants him dead. In fact, the entire Fae community has begun to grumble as Kifirin's judgment looms. With only a few exceptions, the Fae focus their anger (and the blame) on Toff, who fails to understand why everyone now seems to be against him.

I started this series years ago, but lost interest while waiting for each book to come out. I finally decided to go back to it when I saw it was completed. As far at this final book goes, it reads more like filler than an ending. There are a ton of loose ends not wrapped up and even new ones introduced. I guess this is because we are supposed to pick up with a spin-off series, but frankly, I have no interest in those. I prefer to stick to the main hero/heroine of the plot and not branch-off into side stories of other characters, even if they do further the plot. That is also why I gave this book 3 stars, since most of the story is told from Toff's point of view, and Lissa's children, mostly about Toff's life with the Fae and his later adoption. There's not much from Lissa's or her mates' viewpoints.

As for the series as a whole, again I think I'd give it 3 stars. The writing is good, and plot and worldbuilding excellent, but I had a lot of problems with some of the characters. Lissa was supposed to be a character who started out lost and weak and grew strong. Do I think she achieved this by the end? Meh. She definitely grew into her powers, and if a clear enemy (read Ra'ak here) attacked, she'd take them out no problem. But the machinations and betrayals by friends, family, and lovers? Her backbone in those situations was more of a limp noodle. She forgave people who she had no business forgiving, ever. And, more often than not, let people use her like a puppet on a string with little complaint.

<Spoilers if you haven't read the whole series> The second character that made me dislike this series was Griffin. He manipulated people and events for his own, often selfish, goals. And poor Lissa paid the price, over and over. Just when I thought I couldn't hate him any more, he reached all new lows. Even his act at the end didn't redeem him to me. Lissa should absolutely, never, ever under any circumstances, forgive that guy. His actions massively changed the future and events that should have happened now never will. Not only that, his actions cost billions of lives and has twisted up Lissa's future beyond repair. So he can't see his son's future anymore. Whoopdeedoo. That's barely more than a slap on the wrist for all he's done. They should have stripped him of his immortality and ALL his abilities as Oracle. Honestly, he probably should have been executed. What he did was that bad. I mean, he made the bad guys look almost good by comparison. And he didn't even really have any remorse for what he did. Was he sorry people got hurt? Sure. Would he do it all over again? Absolutely. He got what he wanted in the end no matter the cost and that's all that he really cared about.

And then there are the mates. Betrayal after betrayal there. As for Shadow? She should never have taken him back after he allowed the marriage to happen to that other woman. Kifirin, after he sent her to death knowingly, she should have never forgiven that. Gavin, who was going to kill her, nope. Tony who stole her blood for experiments, nope. Gabron who cheated on her with a veritable army of women (one of which ended up almost killing Lissa) and made her the laughingstock of the galaxy, nope. Winkler who paraded a series of floozies in front of her and then knocked up Kellee (who also tried to kill Lissa), nope. Norian who sees her as his personal weapon for the ASD, nope. Garde, kind of a mixed bag, but definitely wasn't liking him when he was discriminating against his own son for being only half High Demon. Karzac, she should have sent him packing back to his other mate and their kid, or better yet, she should have never accepted his bond in the first place since he already had two other female mates. Also, kind of creepy since (if I'm remember this correctly, there are so many mates and co-mates to keep track of) he was the Uncle/Step-dad to her Twin dragon mates since he is the co-mate of their mother, Devin, and father, Dragon, and helped raise them. Erlund, he has multiple other mates and was/is the lover of Lissa's Grandfather...just eew. She should never have accepted him on that alone.

The only mates who, as far as I know, didn't betray her, use her for something, cheat on her, or knocked up other women was Rigo, Roff, the twin Dragons, and the two who used to be Renee and Don. They were the only ones worthy of Lissa. I know it may be hypocritical, but I don't like it when the heroine's mates aren't faithful to her. I almost stopped reading altogether when Karzac knocked up Grace. If I wasn't so far into the series and invested with so much time and money, I would have. I cried right along with Lissa and understood her reasons for alienating Karzac. He had a new family he needed to be with, his first, and only child. I felt Lissa should have given him his ring back right then and there and left it at that. I know I would have. Actually, she should never have bonded with him in the first place, she should have known such a situation was likely to happen when he has 2 other female mates. Lissa has been through so much, the least she deserves are mates that will be faithful to her, treat her like an equal and not a tool to be used or a child to be coddled. Also, hated how Merrill treated Lissa and thought he should have been punished for it, but he barely even felt bad. The brief scene with him seducing and Kiarra, disgusting. He's still obsessed with her and could care less about Lissa and what they should have been to each other, which ticked me off to no end. Lissa always seems to be the one left holding the bag, and nobody cares since they all get what they wanted.

Blood Reunion Blood Destiny Book 10 eBook Connie Suttle Reviews

I love this series of books and I look forward to every new installment, however, I can't say that this one is my favorite.

We find out what happens to Lissa's children and also to the adopted child that was stolen from her.

In previous books, Lissa has always been the main character. I think that was a big draw for me. I really felt like I knew her and how she ticked. In this book, Lissa is not as prominent and the kids' point of view is given.

I know some readers got bored of it in past books, but I think that Lissa's biggest power (for me) is that she is able to travel in energy form, get things done, then be back for dinner. That didn't happen in this book for a good reason, but still, it was disappointing for me. And what happened to her sixth sense that let her know when something wasn't right. It was OFF in this book. She barely got the tingle then the bad thing happened! I was like, "What? That's not how it goes!"

Anyway, I did enjoy the book, just not as much as the others and I still look forward to more books in this series, if there will be more.

I also recommend the iridicti series by Connie Suttle. It's about a teenager, but adults can enjoy it too. I did. )
This was another fantastic addition to this series. I always devour all of Connie Suttles books and this was no exception. Blood Reunion is one of my favorite in the Blood Destiny series. I admit, I was getting a little bored (just a little) with the Blood Destiny series because they were starting to seem too similar. Lissa was always having some huge epic battle, being upset by her mates for one reason or another and being the only one able to save the day. This book changed everything. It was nice to see... ******SPOILER ALERT******* Lissa had the children she so desperately wanted and Toff's situation was well resolved. I enjoyed the new characters, especially since they weren't new mates, and reading from their perspective.

I am so excited to see how the Legend of the Ir'Indicti series ties into this. I really want to see how Ashe works into Lissa's world. It seems a natural progression that they eventually meet and I cannot wait for that to occur. In an ideal world, we will get a great book in which they both star.

This is definitely not a stand alone novel as none of Ms. Suttle's books really are. If you are on the fence about reading one of her books, start from the beginning of the series and read by publication date, they are absolutely addictive. If you are a paranormal/urban fantasy fan or a sci-fi fan or both, this will meet all of your needs.

One of my favorite things about this series is the frequency in which Ms. Suttle releases books. It allows me to greedily read the stories regularly. A new book every month is a wonderful treat. I always hate waiting 6+ months for an author to release the next book. Ms. Suttle releases them regularly so I always have a fix.
